Photonic devices manufacturing in Milan dates back to the 1990s, starting with the LiNbO3 high-speed modulator product line. In 2019, AFR acquired the Milan site along with its intellectual properties, aiming to expand its strong technical and production capabilities to leverage the team's expertise in developing groundbreaking Thin Film Lithium Niobate technology, marking a substantial leap forward in product innovation.
